Restorative & Therapeutic Massage
A massage session can include deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, neuromuscular, myofascial, Lymph Drainage and CranioSacral Therapy techniques, depending on the client's focus for the day. Whether that is relaxation, working on sore muscles, enhancing mobility, or moving more deeply into a connection with body and spirit, Amelia brings her nurturing loving spirit to every session. Lymph Drainage Therapy
The cells of our body are immersed in a fluid enviornment where they receive their nutrients, grow, repair and die. The lymphatic system drains this interstitial area, transporting wastes, foreign bodies, germs and toxins out of the body. Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) supports this system and is used to alleviate conditions such as swelling (edemas), chronic pain as well as to detoxify and regenerate body tissues. It is effective in stimulating the immune system, improves chronic infections and inflammations and for cosmetic applications to minimize scars and wrinkles. Pregnancy Massage, as well as Fertility and PostPartum
Amelia is a Certified Nurturing the Mother© practitioner of Therapeutic Massage for Pregnancy, she also combines modalities for Fertility and Postpartum work. By nurturing mothers, Amelia is able to nurture families and babies, bringing more peace and comfort into what can be a challenging time for all. Often a longer session is recommended to nurture the mother, her body and her connection to her child. Side-lying positioning and lots of pillows are used for comfort and safety. High risk patients are encouraged, especially for the relaxation benefits - with their Doctor or Midwife's permission. Expectant fathers also benefit from massage! CranioSacral Therapy
A gentle, hands-on method of enhancing the function of the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. Couples Massage
Generally offered in your home, a time to nurture yourselves and your relationship. Work side by side with Amelia, nurturing your partner with gentle soothing touch. Amelia will guide and teach massage and relaxation techniques that will support and encourage loving, non-sexual physical connection within the relationship. Both partners will receive a full massage session. Very empowering.

Each session includes approximately 10 minutes of time for intake and closure, new client sessions may require additional time.

Healing From the Core Overview
Amelia is a Certified Healing From the Core® Presenter, offering instruction in meditation, relaxation and self-healing techniques. The foundation of Healing From the Core, an extensive Upledger Institute curriculum, is learning to ground and connect with the resources around you. These experiential workshops teach you how to live more fully in your body, rejuvenating yourself on a moment by moment basis. This helps to heal internal blocks, avoid burnout, have healthy boundaries, and live in this world with more joy.

A depth of life experience supports Amelia's practice. She has taught pre-school and managed a number of small to mid-sized businesses - including Connecticut's largest antique auction gallery. Amelia's father actively embraced consciousness awareness and holistic health practices in the early 1970's, sowing a seed that now blooms in her own practice. Recently she lead a Waldorf school initiative and she has fond memories of the fun and the lessons learned while an owner of a windsurfing and small boat shop. A creative spirit, Amelia is a multimedia and web designer, artist, photographer, retired master gardener, and knitter. She is blessed to be the mother of another creative spirit, Sarah, age 9, who is an endless source of joy and new learnings.

Amelia received her Therapeutic Massage training from Anne Arundel Community College. She is Nationally Certified by the NCBTMB and State Certified in Maryland, certificate #M03297.
Her Lymph Drainage Therapy, Healing From the Core and CranioSacral Therapy training are with the Upledger Institute.
Amelia has recieved her Pregnancy, Fertility and Post Partum massage training from Nurturing the Mother, by Claire Marie Miller.
Additional studies include, Foundation Year in Waldorf Education, Early Childhood Education, Business Management, Lazure and Veil painting.
Amelia's studies continue in Lymph Drainage Therapy, Pregnancy for the Childbearing Year, CranioSacral Therapy, pediatric and other hands-on therapies, supporting her desire to offer many paths to healing.
