ACCOMMODATIONS
Caribbean style Bungalows are nestled into lovely tropical gardens. Built with precious woods exquisitely polished, all have private bathrooms with hot water and spacious verandas overlooking the jungle and the sea. Some have lofts, enabling use as a suite... with the bed upstairs and living room downstairs... or to accommodate three people. Beds have high quality single, queen or king size mattresses.
The Guest House is located in a sweet jungle valley favored by toucans, monkeys and dazzling butterflies. Five double rooms, each with two single beds, open onto a spacious veranda with cozy, inviting hammocks. Shared bathrooms with hot water are located at each end of the Guest House.
Samasati's water system is supplied by fresh springs on the property. Please note that the ecologically sound gray disposal system requires the use of environmental friendly biological products only. Costa Rica is a leading manufacturer of natural beauty and hygiene products that can be purchased at Samasati Nature Retreat.

RESTAURANT
Spacious and comfortable, the open air restaurant at Samasati Nature Retreat is an impressive native wood and bamboo structure with high vaulted ceilings and split level floors, overlooking a gorgeous view of jungle and sea.
Delicious and abundant meals are served three times daily... "buffet style". The fare is vegetarian with fish available for dinner. Samasati's bar serves a great variety of fresh juices, tropical cocktails, wines, and beers, available for purchase.
Dietary Concerns
Samasati will make every effort to accommodate any dietary concerns. Please inform us in advance of your specific needs and we will communicate with Samasati to assure your every comfort during your stay.
Dining off site
There are a number of restaurants in the surrounding area that, we as a group, or you individually, may venture out to. These meals are not included in the tour package.
What to bring: Yoga mat, binoculars, camera and film, tennis or hiking shoes for jungle walk, sturdy sandals, long pants for jungle walks, warmer clothing for the evening, casual and light clothing, biodegradable shampoo, natural sun tan lotion, beach towel, sunglasses and hat, earplugs (for sleeping well with others), flashlight, mosquito repellent, light raincoat or umbrella, your favorite CD that can be played in the restaurant. Make sure you have some US $ cash with you in small bills (not 50s or 100s). It will be useful on your way in and out.
Telephone & Communications: There are no public telephones at Samasati Nature Retreat. You can access email and make long distance telephone calls at the nearby village, Puerto Viejo, 4 miles away. Please keep this in mind when you are making arrangements with your loved ones. We will provide an emergency pager number and Samasati's US phone contact to all participants.
